What are the good points if you chose FM approved product?
The FM APPROVED mark is recognized and respected worldwide. If the cold room PIR is approved by FM approval company, the raw material of the cold room panel should be designated and ensure fire retardant. Loss prevention is bigger considering factor for a big company to invest in building a cold storage warehouse.
How do distinguish the common PIR and FM approval PIR?
For the PIR we produced, we have two kinds of custom protective film for your choice. One kind is common Yanghu protective film. Another kind is the FM approval protective film.
What’s the difference between FM approval PIR and common PIR?
For Cold room insulation, current choices have polyurethane or PIR. So we call it PU sandwich panel and PIR. Cam lock type cold room panel is PU sandwich panel. The slip joint type cold room panel is PIR.
The PIR has better insulation and fire retardant. Commonly the fire retardant class of PU cold room panel could meet B2 or B3. But if you need a B1 fire retardant, you have to choose PIR.
FM-approved PIR needs to choose special material so as to meet FM-tested standards. So the price is different from common PIR.
